New England Trip Next Fall

We're planning an RV trip to New England next fall for our anniversary. We plan on late fall, right after thanksgiving.
1. Is this too late? Are there enought campsites open, is it too cold, are the New England attractions any good this late? Thinking in terms of Mystic Harbor, Boston (1)day, possibly Maine coast, possibly follow the Hudson up between hew Hampshire and Vermont

2. Regardless of when we go, what are some good gampgrounds? What are some good resources for planning this. I have googled and not much other than frommers and some reviews pop up.

Thanks

  • you will have trouble finding anything open that late in the season around here. Even one of the more popular campgrounds (Normandy Farms) closes right around Thanksgiving now. They used to be open all winter but just wasn't worth the few campers they had come out.
  • Most campgrounds closed late Oct. water turned off, if open for dry camping only. Most every thing closed by Thanksgiving.
