Going from PA to NE, hopefully next week. NJ coast to Nova Scotia hopefully. Taking our time. Should we tow our car or just take our bicycles? Favorite places to see or must sees?

Jersey is no draw to me but as you go north, Mystic seaport and aquarium, Cape Cod and the islands, Salem and the witches, Boston Aquarium and the USS Constitution, Maine with its fishing ports and Acadia NP. My legs couldn't pedal all of that.

Unless you're familiar with Boston streets ... do not attempt to drive in the City if you can help it. Scan for a campground with sea,rail,bus transportation available nearby. Commuter Rail is handy.There are ferries from some campgrounds as well as shuttle buses and Commuter Rail.Wampatuck State Park and drive to ferry lot in Hingham is a convenient base.

Thank you kerriakeRoo and buta4 ! We would like to take a month and explore. There is so much to see. Would like to narrow down to " must sees", best campgrounds, and avoid at all costs ??. We are relatively new RVers too.

Leave the bikes at home. Get out your good Sam directory and read about all the interesting places as Kerriakeroo mentioned. State parks in MA are booked many months ahead of time and they will not let you in without a reservation. Most of the private campgrounds are excellent in CT and MA and you should probably plan ahead on what you want to see. You could also take a chance and drive into a campground and hopefully they are not full, but at this time of year in Cape Cod they are full up especially weekends.

We tow our car and our bicycles are on the motorhome so we have the option of bikes or car. We almost always use the car.Don't forget that Vermont is one of the New England states too.
