My father owned a radiator shop for years and I worked for him in the summers and on weekends. Absolutely, I would recommend a copper core, brass or steel tank radiator over one with the aluminum core with the crimped-on tanks. Country Coach, for example, had lots of issues with aluminum radiators and many have been replaced with copper/steel radiators.
Find a reputable radiator shop in your area that does commercial truck/heavy equipment radiator repairs/replacement and see what they say.
On the coolant, when you do the radiator replacement, have them refill with one of the OAT long life/extended life coolants. They will last 6 years and only require periodic checking (test strips) and may need a periodic boost with an additive based on testing.
