New Smart Car

Purchased a new 2016 Smart Car yesterday. It is the Passion Coupe.. I have been towing a 2009 Passion since I purchased it new. Have traveled well over 50,000 miles including Alaska with it trailing behind. Great tow car. I test drove the new Smart and fell in love immediately.. The new suspension and horsepower along with the extra 4 inches in width are great. Radio is better and all the computer stuff you expect in a new car. I love my original Smart but this is clearly an upgrade. Now that they have the procedure for flat towing this was a must. I have run through the process for towing and it works well and blue ox baseplate has been ordered.

    @ usermanual. I'm in cathedral city. I'll have to check my power bill. Angela agrees with you and says it is cheaper that 21 cents per KWH. That number is stuck in my head for some reason. We use to own a lot in Blythe and it seems to me it was 21 cents there and maybe I am just carrying that number here. I'll do some diggin.

    With my size, I usually don't have the luxury of test driving cars, I have to go try them on. I don't think these will fit.

    I haul two sets of golf clubs in back of seats but must take the long clubs out and run between seats. My two dogs rid in back. One is 25 pounds and other 18. I love the Smart but understand not for all. It sure is great for parking on football Saturday or generally in city.

    john where are you at where power is 21 cents ?? yikes
    In Indio its only .13 and I think that's bad compared to home in BC where its around 9 cents

    Congrats. Great little car. We are staying with our 451 electric as our toad. We are down south with it right now. Perfect car for the coachella valley. Power is pricey here (close to 21 cents a KWH) but it is still a blast to put the top down and burn around the valley for about 1.50 day for a full "tank". I like the lines of the new 453. We took one for a brief test drive and there are some definite refinements. Love to see a pic or two of your new ride.

    absolutely agree not a reasonable tow car no room to carry golf clubs groceries friends etc just not a reasonable tow car for most couples
