Most states have laws that prohibit having a television that operates within view of the driver while in motion. The precise definition of what "in view of the driver" is varies somewhat; some say just in their line of vision, others say that the screen can't be in front of the plane of the backrest of the driver's seat.
Before disabling the interlock, make sure you're compliant with the law in the states where you'll be driving (or avoid using the television while driving).
