One of the first things that most new owners do, is cut the interlock wire in the receptacle, and cap it.
The reason has very little to do with the TV... It's because in many rigs, that is the only receptacle that is powered by the inverter. We use it to make a pod cup of coffee at rest stops, and have a crock pot sitting in the sink cooking our dinner, while traveling. To my way of thinking, having the only receptacle powered by the inverter disabled when the ignition on is beyond stupid.
By the way, we also have the tablets and laptops charging from the inverter while driving.
