New tires

Our Motor Home is a 2007 model and we are in need to change our tires. In reading on the forum here many are satisfied with Michelin tires, but just wondering what other brands you use and how happy are you with them. Plus the cost of that tire (Ballpark figure). Thanks for your suggestions, and Happy Travels to you !!

On a previous MH I replaced GY's with Toyo and was very happy with them over the GY's which I could not get balanced. The GY truck tires which came on this MH were made in Germany and had a good rep unlike the GY G670 RV tire that often rivers. At eight years I replace my GY 295 front tires with a bigger Firestone 315's and at 10 years I replaced the rear with slightly smaller Hankook 11R22.5. Very happy with this combination and I did not balance the rear six.
Here are 292 posts on Hankook tires in the last year in Class A.
I WAS a loyal Michelin user for over 40 years but I will NOT buy another after the way they would not warranty the early XRVs that actually blew out sitting still. Guess that's better than all the ones that blew going down the road and it was always the owners fault.

PS: I put the 10 year old tires off this MH on the back of my 10 wheel dump truck as I could not find any cracks or other problems when I dismounted them. They are much better than the recaps I replaced.
No, I am NOT suggesting that you should go more than 7 years BUT I'd put almost all the miles on these tires and I'm anal on weights/pressure/inspection.
  • We have TOYO truck tires. We are very satisfied with them. We put them on in 2010 and at that time all six tires cost us $2650 installed and balanced.
  • Michelins on the front, Goodyear on the rear and tag...very satisfied...Check the FMCA program on Michelins. These are the only two specifically designed for RVs..the rest are truck tires...Many great tires out there, Firestone, Bridgestone, Toyos, Hankooks etc....IMHO, you get what you pay for. You decide how much your is safety worth...just my opinion....Dennis
