New tires

Anybody put new tires on a class c lately? They unit we are looking at has sit for a couple of years and the tires look dry rotted. How much are we looking at for good tires?
  • Yep, we just spent around $1500 for 6 new BF Goodrich 225/75 x16 on our 31C. Absolutely get the metal stems installed. We also went with metal extenders from Borge.

  • I did the michilins . I think are the best , MAKE SURE you get NEW METAL stems ,and quility flex lines if its a duel wheel in the rear. find a BIG tire dealer that handles 18teen wheelers,
  • Just replaced mine last spring, 6 Toyo Open Country H/T's, mounted and balanced with metal valve stems, about $1300 Cdn. Great tires!
  • I put firestones on my 31 minnie for around $1500
They have been great and handled some really
Crap roads in Mexico . The rig in general handled
So much better with the new tyres even though the
    old ones weren't that bad.
  • I spent $1500 on a set of Michellens in the 225/75 R16 size for a 32' Minnie. I've got one 3000 mile trip on them so far and am very happy with the way the handle compared with the mixed off brands that came on the C

Not sure what kind of RV you have but I have 19.5's Load Range G and they cost around $300+ each x 6. I believe in good tires because I have seen the results of blowouts and it is more expensive than buying the best up front.

  • Call several tire stores and ask them how much it will cost for one tire, with new stem valve and balance and if they have tire disposal fees.

Give them the number on the side wall (Example Goodyear LT 225/75 R16) and let them know that you want the tires new not the ones that have been sitting in the tire rack for some time, there is a manufacturing date, numbers stamped on the side wall, (05 08) first number is the week in which the tire was made the second is the year of manufacturing, these numbers are from my rig, I am going to replace all 7 tires next month.
