I have decided to go with the Tire Man brass Dually valve stem kit that is for all 6 rims.

These should do a fine job in the valve stem department....

For future reference, that vibration is a tread separating. I've had tread separations (three on one vehicle, one hot weather trip) and they usually start getting out of round enough to feel when the height of the bubble is as little as 1/4 inch. This is often long before a big chunk of tread lets go.

My experience also is that these are not blowouts. First the tread separates and flies off, and if you keep going long enough (as truckers might do on a trailer tire) the tire body then collapses from running without a tread.

Blowouts on modern radial tires are usually zipper failures in a sidewall, and those give no warning at all.

There are high pressure (up to 80 PSI) rubber valve stems adequate for normal loads on this class of truck chassis, and the factory usually installs them OEM. That's not the same stem used for a car or a truck with passenger car tires. The tire store should know the difference.

The high pressure rubber stems should not be used with any type of extension, or accessories like screw-on pressure measuring equipment. These are actually metal stems surrounded by a rubber body, and if allowed to flex, you will have fatigue failures on the metal part (which was not a problem with passenger car rubber stems).

If you are going to use extensions, install short stainless steel stems. If you want the best solution and do not change tire positions, get long metal stems fitted to the application. Even these, at least the inner dually stems, should be supported at the outer ends, a good kit includes that supporting hardware or grommet. If long metal stems flex, they'll eventually fail from fatigue.

YES that is the correct Borg Dually Valve set. Those 2" round "hand" holes in wheels Ford used for years make it about impossible to check air in dual wheels.

The Tire Man Kit comes with the flow thru caps that were mentioned and there are 6 valve stems,instead of just 4. Metal valve stems are a must for all wheels.

I have read that the CW solid metal valves are as good as Tire Man or Borg products. Notice that no solid metal valve bodies are provided for front tires. You may have trouble checking air pressure on front tire with beauty discs in place although an angled air chuck may work OK. Your story of tire failure is exactly what happened to us near Puyallup, WA. Noobs, our new to us used 79 Delta had new looking tires, a rear dual started thumping and came apart, steel belt cracked both holding tanks. We spent the weekend in a seedy RV camp waiting for the RV Doctor to plastic weld the tanks. it wiped out wiring but fortunately not the propane lines. We paid tourist price for replacement tire. Eventually three other tires blew preceded by thumping sound which was inner and outer tire layers separating and bulging. Don't take sellers word for age of tires or anything else and buy name brand tires. $1200 for six sounds like you did well if it included everything.

There ARE "High Pressure" "Rubber" Stems. They show Brass for a lot of their length, compared to standard rubber stems where brass shows only with the cap off. The High Pressure are OK only if there's nothing on them but the Cap. My brother has them on his one-ton pickup and they're fine.

Extenders/Extensions, NO NO NO!!! The added weight will vibrate and worry the rubber to failure. Get a solution that is

1. All Metal, and

2. So easy to use that you check air often, willingly, easily.

Camping World just started carrying Dually Valves, and at an unheard of low price. There may even be Coupons, Specials. Get a set (part number may be DL-1EC) and go to Discount. Have them install that set in the rear. And, replace the FRONT ones with METAL. Spare too! Two-inch if they have them. The usual 1-1/2" won't let you check and air them without and extension.

Get Air-Through Caps for all seven. I'll find you a link, but NAPA has them in blister packs of four. Amazon has them too. Look for V2B, Gator, Crocodile. Adding those to 1-1/2" metal valves lets you check and air Fronts and Spare. With those on every position, you can check tires as fast as you can get yourself in front of a wheel and push the gauge on.
