Hi,
1 kwh per day from dual wind turbines and solar? That seems pretty low.
Have you made any provision for keeping the battery bank(s) warm?
Consider adding a storm porch to act as an air lock.
I have an insulbright blanket to block off the cab area of my class C.
Add a trik-l-start unit to keep the chassis battery charged.
It is low because the wind is not constant so it flucuates quite a bit. 1kw is the median or average that is pretty constant. I am also using small DC generators. Most of the power is via solar but when the wind is up around 8-10 mph, the two wind turbines put out about 50 volts or so..
I had not thought about keeping the batteries warm but that is a good idea. I will have to think on that one. The second bank of batteries is in a relatively warm area but the first set of three is in front by the engine..
We had talked about adding a 'porch' or add on. The only issue is we want to be able to pick up and go in a matter of minutes if necessary... If there is a way of doing as a temporary thing then that is a good idea too.
The chassis battery is kept fully charged by my system. I had the same thought so just set up a separate circuit and as long as there is sunlight or wind, it gets a topping trickle of juice.
Thanks for the suggestions..
