Sounds like you are on a mission. Maybe it can be done but why? I know you have your reasons but you should put your resources and efforts into finding a warmer locations vs. using your survival skills in the Wisconsin winter.
Maybe you are doing it for the challenge or simply for enjoyment.
But there are more logical/reasonable ways to live than taking on the brutal Wisconsin winter.
Sounds like you are prepared nevertheless it will be a challenge. Basic RV's were never designed for those extreme conditions. Good Luck.
You are correct.. I have my reasons for doing this.. The first was the idea that I needed someplace to live.. Before this idea was born, I found it near impossible to find a home to rent in the countryside that also would allow my combat trained German Shepherd... even though she is friendly unless confronted by a threat to me.
On top of that, my instincts and the information I have access to are telling me we are coming up on a major event in this country, probably economic collapse or something that leads or causes it. (here is something you may want to listen to.. http://pro.moneymappress.com/MMRBSLG39EXT/LMMRQ9AV/?h=true)
Because of this, buying a house right now was not something I was ready to do because I do not know how all of this is going to play out.. I felt it was more important right now to get settled on some land, make arrangements for food and water supply and be prepared to take care of my own when it happens without needing to run to the grocery store to resupply. I have about 6 months worth of supplies right now stored. What worries me is it will not be enough before things stabilize again.. What I DO believe though using both common sense and information I have access to because of my background, we are headed for a major collapse in this country, and perhaps around the world, economically. Anyone that does not realize that is only fooling themselves..
There are some other reasons to but it is not important for this discussion.
You are correct. RV's were never designed for this kind of winter weather. However I am finding with a bit of work and planning, it can be done and I am confident that it will not be as bad as some think it will be. In one regard, I am thankful this week has had temps in the 30's at night.. It has shown me a preview of things and allowed me to figure out and see areas I need to work on..
Like I said, I will pass along the experience and anything I learn as well..
