The PA Turnpike is certainly no bargain.
From Ohio to NJ via the TP is 356.68 miles. Using my Dutch Star and Silverado PU as examples the Class 4(19,001 to 30,000 lbs), 4 axle rate would be $109.75 cash and $78.65 EZ-Pass. That's $.3077 per mile cash and $.22 per mile EZ-Pass.
Even dropping to a class 3, which is 15,001 to 19,000 lbs, and would cover most gassers towing a car or truck behind, the rates would be $86.65 cash and $62.08 EZ-Pass.
Bridge tolls, especially in the northeast are becoming highly excessive and most are difficult to avoid, especially if time is a factor.
Sadly the cost to play in this game is high and certainly not going down any time soon.
