I am not overly concerned about re-sale, I just want to get a layout that works. With that said, I have a shower on my current boat that I have used a grand total of 0 times over the past 7 years. I always shower outside with some soap after a swim, or go the marina dock. With that said, I am not sure I want to give space up for a head. Is this reasonable based on others experience?
In our case, we will still need a cargo van to be "somewhat cargo" - capable of hauling "stuff" to our FL condo; so yes, were dismayed by how much room even a wet bath takes up. Since most of our camping is State Parks or private RV parks, we use the campground showers; and if we stay someplace rustic, there's always the portable shower option. And our go-to potty option is a "Luggable Loo" with wag bags and kitty litter. Elegant? Not hardly - but it gets the job done in a little over a cubic foot of space.
I'm sure that horrifies a lot of folks, but as a boater/kayaker, my expectations of having elegant restroom facilities is pretty low :-)
