For internet, I'd go with a Verizon Pre-paid plan using a LTE (4G) tablet (just buy one of their certified pre-owned tablets). You'll actually get a bit more data than using a cellphone AND you can use the tablet as a hotspot without paying extra (hotspots on smartphones are extra).
