We transitioned from a 50" sailboat we lived on for 10 years to a 43 ft trawler.
Now we have a 43' MH and what I can say....MH MUCH MUCH MUCH less expensive to operate and maintain. I remember after that a visit to West Marine one did not ket much change back from a $1,000 bill.
Shipyard for routine bottom work compared to an RV shop for routine maintenance...about $5,000 vs $500.
Slip rent vs RV park. 1000 to 35.
There are downsides and we do thing back about all the good thing about living on a boat and there were a lot. Do we miss it...yeah in many ways but we also love out new life.
