Wait times for a tow is depending on where you break down. 100miles from a tow truck is going to take longer than if you break down in the middle of a large city. Sort of common sense. Holidays and weekends MAY also take longer.
If you do not have roadside assistance, then YOU have to find a company to tow you and PAY 100% for the tow in advance. Even then YOU would have to locate a service facility that is qualified to make repairs so that you can give the tow truck operator a destination.
