I'm with racerchaser and jmt. You're new here and new to rv'ing so you get a little slack. But you rolled in here with an attitude and apparently you are president of the more-money-than-brains club, and that's going to rub some people the wrong way.
Wow, I just didn't get that from Plumbers post at all. More money than brains ???... with a 13 yr. old coach??? Sounds like to me he wants to start out with the least depreciation as possible.
And, it's natural to think of 'what' could happen when you first get into the RVing lifestyle. I certainly had the feeling when we first took delivery of our new coach back in 2007 (2008 Monaco Dynasty).
I studied coaches for 7 yrs. before purchase so that we could 'do it right' with our first coach (weren't ready for the lifestyle when I started researching). We rented 3 times before we bought.
I couldn't sleep the first night we picked up our coach thinking of all that could go wrong. Also, I was trying to remember what the tech told me the previous two days going over the new coach. It can be daunting.
After 7.5 yrs with the Monaco, I relaxed and take things as they come and deal with them. We never had a break down, just a few house items needing attention along the way. I noticed a leaking radiator hose at a rest stop and had that repaired at the next big town. No show stoppers, never towed and no blowouts.
