Newmar Dutch Aire 4304

What are your thoughts on a Newmar Dutch Aire 4304? Since they were only manufactured in 2009 & 2010, will it be hard to get parts? Dealer is asking $130,000. Is that a fair price to pay? Thanks for any info you can share.
  • ^^^ Being a 43'er I'm pretty sure it will be a tag axle chassis. CCC shouldn't be an issue.

As to the coach itself, very nice unit in its day. In that timeframe Newmar was trying to "Aire" the higher end diesels and "Star" the more standard line.

Mtofells point on emissions may be something to consider, but you'd have that issue with any diesel of the era. While I'm not a fan of it I'm not sure I'd let it stop me from buying a MH I wanted.

Welcome to the DP side of RVing...you’ll love it. I recently upgraded to a orphan (company no longer in business and not supported very well by newest owner...REV). and I’m not worried about getting parts. I would want a 23,000 lb rear axle on that rig...may not have muck CCC on that size rig without it.
  • According to Nada, a 2010 DutchAire base pricing, low retail would be $134,000. That is for the M-3404. I didn't have info to put in, but that is the base pricing.

    Dutch Aire

According to that, it doesn't sound like a bad price. You would need to look at the condition, service records if available, and how well it was cared for.

  • I'd personally be leery of that time frame due to the emission stuff being relatively new technology. I'm sure I'll get flamed with a dozen anecdotal pieces of evidence that have absolutely no statistical relevance. At least go in with your eyes open and talk to some diesel mechanics. From what I've learned, service bays are full of coaches of that vintage due to getting the bugs worked out of emission systems. To be fair, I have no personal experience but even if I did, I'm just one person.

If it is in fare or better condition with anything lower than 50k miles

    sounds good.

We love our old 2000 Mountain Aire, tougher than the ever ready bunny. :)
  • Newmar supplies all body parts for any coach they have built.

We had a new lower right hand corner of the front cap for our 2000 mountain Aire in one week.
a basement door was ordered by phone and was waiting for us when we got home.
  • Can't say it that price is fair without alot more info but as for parts, there should be no issue with getting replacement parts. Nothing on those coaches was proprietary other than the monogram.
  • Pretty hard to know if it’s a fair price without knowing it’s condition, mileage, options etc.
