Newport Oregon to Fort Collins Co

Speaking for the other end of the trip. Cross Idaho on I84, South toward Salt Lake on I80/I15 to Ogden and use I84 at Riverdale to go East on I84, much easier than going through Salt Lake and up I80. When you cross Wyoming turn South on US-287 on the South side of Laramie and travel directly into Ft. Collins. This cuts out the worst of the hills and windy roads. Hope this helps, I have traveled this route all months of the year and find it as passable or more passable than going to Cheyenne and using I25.
