Interesting thread. Lots of RV'ers distrust or don't know about the 5-year rule of thumb and will continue to drive tires until their first blowout. There are enough variables and too many parties with liability and/or economic concerns making mandatory replacements difficult to codify and enforce. The RV industry has not yet seen fit to install reliable solid metal valve stems that make tire pressure checks and maintenance easy.
