I never use the cruise control on my 2011 Georgetown/ford chassis. Maybe on flat ground across west Texas, but otherwise the controller downshifts rapidly on overpasses trying to hold speed. Rolling hills give the same response. A control guy would say there is not enough reset or proportional band. Running up the rpm to 4500 to chase a 5 mph offset is not something I like. Coming down long grades does not work either. Now if we address the tow haul option, I have done comparisons with it on and off and it really makes no difference to horsepower of fuel economy. Its an interesting concept to change the shift limit values in the engine computer based on load but my foot still does a better job. Call me old school
