No Electric When Hooked up

i have 2001 winnebago adventurer 38ft, i was camping full hookups last weekend and after 3rd day the electric kicked i had battery lights but no electricity for a/c or microwave or any plug ins, i checked all the breakers in the box nothing was kicked, so i drove it home and decided to try fire the generator to see if i had power from it and yes the microwave lit up so what could be wrong no power with hookups but do have power with generator. Mine has power switch from the hookup cords if that helps
  • Had that happen this weekend at Old Millstream Campground in Lancaster. The 50A wasn't working and they were supposed to be working on it. Went up to a friends campfire and when we returned there was no electric to 4 sites. The electrician left and said it was an underground short. Sounds funny in the fact the 30a worked fine until they started working on it then there was no power and no chance of getting any. I had to go to the office and asked for another site. There was no sorry please find a site that suits you. Then because they didn't log me into the new site they came and told me I owed them for a night's site fee. I told them not to expect it. Nicely of course.
  • the cord runs to a black box that says power switch it does it automatcally, and its 30 amp, i had camped from thurs to sunday and i noticed sunday morning the ac had stopped and microwave had stopped and the wife started screaming my hair straightener is not working, so whatever happened, it happened during use that morning, when i got home i thought to try the generator and the microwave light came on soon as gen fired up,
  • Also, look at the plug on your shore line for melting and discoloration.
  • Do you have 30 amp or 50 amp? Most likely the transfer switch.
  • does your generator have to be manually plugged in?....if not, and you rely on a transfer switch, you need to check that...I've also seen plugs go bad on the cord too.
