Hi, I have a 99 Endeavor DP which we recently purchased with a heater/blower problem. In colder weather, say below 50F, I get no or little warm air coming from the vents. After parking at a rest area for a few minutes, it works fine for about the first 15 minutes then progressively slows down to practically no air flow. The blower seems to have only one speed, high(when it works), then slows to a trickle after being on for a while. Even while setting without the engine running, it only has off and high. Sure gets cold in there at about 40 degrees. I'm thinking thermostat for the low heat output and a bad switch for the blower problem. Additionally, the defrost/defog has no air flow at all, makes for an adventure in cold wet weather. Any suggestions from those with experience with a similar problem?Second question, how does one get rid of a foul smell in the freezer? Had a power failure with stuff in the freezer for about 2 weeks, suggestions?Thank you in advance for any help.:?

Clean the heck out of the freezer walls and put some baking powder in there if for some reason the smell persists.Sorry but can't help on your other issue but just to clarify, are you saying that the temperature of the air stays constant but the volume drops to just about nothing?

The coach heat/a-c is a separate unit, located in the front, ahead of the passenger dash, next to the genny. It gets electrical inputs from the dash heatercontrol, and also gets hot water from the engine as well as freon from the engine mounted compressor.These units typically have a fan resister mounted in the ductwork that provide all fan speeds other than high.They will have an engine water hose running in and out. the in hose has a solenoid valve in it, so when you are not asking for heat, the unit doesn't have to deal with it.Check the water hoses, the larger should be hot the other not so much. The solenoid valve will be within sight.

On the freezer, try, Vinegar with baking soda. If that does work, simple green full strength in a bowl. Wipe down the inside with it also. this has worked for us. Am sure there are others who will chime in.A lot of things to check, water flow into and out of the heater, the motor it self, the gate valves. The vacuum pump and hoses.

Sounds like you have a couple of problems, I will say I know nothing about DPs, but I had a similar problem in my truck i regards to the no air with the defroster. Mine was a vacuum line to the diverter that changes the air flow from blowing out the lower, middle, or top vents. I believe the same line also open the diverter that bypasses the heater core. As for the fridge smell, a good cleaning and let it air out. Baking soda works well.

Turn the blower on high and track it down by listening. It is usually on the firewall inside the engine compartment or inside the vehicle on the passenger side. The connector that goes to the blower attaches to the resistor assembly which is mounted on the blower housing. The resistor itself is usually mounted with a couple of screws. Disconnect the blower harness, remove the screws and the resistor assembly can then be pulled out.

Sounds like a circuit breaker to me on the heater.. I had the same issue, The blower worked fine then it would simply shut down, I still had air flow but only due to the movement of the motor home... I finally found the breaker (not fuse) that fed it... NOT labeled for HEVAC I might add but somethign else... They hooked the blower to the wrong terminal on the fuse block, Thankfully, they hooked it to the RIGHT terminal block though so figuring it out (With the aid of a diagram or two from OMEY) was easy.

On the freezer..

Steam clean then wash with baking soda, Let it thaw comnpletly first.

The heat problem could be as simple as the fact that the water line is turned off back by the engine and no sufficient amount of hot water is going to the front heater. Usually it is a simple water valve that needs to be opened up. Hope that helps. Happy Trails.

You've gotten good advice on checking the vacuum pump, vacuum hoses, heater valve, and the resistor for fan speed.

My coach is similar, and I've never gotten decent heat out of the dash heat. It will work fairly well at idle, but not at highway speed.

I've been advised to turn off the valve to the motoraid water feature (coach hot water for sink/shower) to force more heated coolant forward to the heater core, but I haven't tried that yet.

It is a long way from the engine in the rear of the coach to the heater core in the front of the coach.

I had your same problem and after looking and finding the resister and replacing it all positions of fan worked.

We had a problem with the AC going to Heat on our 1998 Intruder. Found a couple 1/8" vacuum lines off from behind the control panel in the dash. There is a color code for the small rubber vacuum manifold for the heater/ac, if more than one vacuum is off. I called the supplier of the OEM Damon supplied unit for that color code and diagram of line attachment to the manifold.

There aren't any tough porous surfaces in the freezer so usually a good cleaning will do the trick. Try Clorox Cleanup with Bleach.
