no power inside my 1994 Fleetwood Tioga class C

I replaced my house battery and my chassis battery both new. Now I do not have any power inside my RV including the rv stereo. Power only turns on when I run the generator or I plug straight to power. I have checked all the fuses, all the surge protectors, replaced the solenoid and still nothing. The RV did not come with a battery switch.
  • I would start by checking to see if there is voltage on both sides of every fuse on the distribution panel.
  • I checked all the fuses the only ones that have power are the two 15 amps and the 20 amps. The rest have no power. I did check the all the fuses with a tester and they are all good. But if i plug the RV to power or run the generaror all fuses have power.

I should have been more clear when I said check the battery terminals for looseness. I had two separate problems where the cable inside the female lug where the lug was squeezed onto the cable end became loose. I couldn't see the corrosion at first because it was under the tape around the female lug. I could actually wiggle the cable inside the lug while the lug was tight to the battery terminal . I would check the cable going back to the distribution panel in particular.

My power distribution panel is made so that the power comes to the panel on one wire. The power is then distributed to 9 fuses that are wired to the various house circuits. There are also 2 30A fuses on the panel. It's a Magnetic panel.

Since power is getting to the panel but only some of the fuses are powered up, if your panel is like mine, the problem is on the panel. That's a big "if".

You are going to have to figure out why power is not getting to all the fuses.
  • Follow the wires from the fuses back toward the battery until you find power. When you find power, the spot you just passed is the problem. Somewhere there is a branch where one leg has power and the other leg does not. You are going to have to find that branch. That is the only way you can have power to part of the panel and not to the other part.

Did you take the fuses OUT to test them? If you tested them in place they can test good even if they are not.
  • It bothers me that it works on shore power but not on battery. Battery power and converter power must be separate where they enter the panel. :h

That should narrow down your search.
  • Great news to all. I HAVE POWER INSIDE MY RV.

All it was wrong was a coil inside the converter charger. the coil was not making a connection with a switch. all i had to do was stretch it a bit and dust it off.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR PROVIDING ME WITH LOTS OF SUGGESTIONS AND GUIDANCE.
