My vent fan at home is a recirculating version, and I use my gas range a great deal, with no problems. No different than cooking on a RV range.
I don't think you need to be concerned about safety, since you are only using the range when you are up and about, with doors opening etc and possibly a window open. Your RV is NOT so airtight that you get zero fresh air.
I'm not concerned about safety. Unfortunately, our smoke detector is about 3 feet above the stove and about a foot to the left. Pretty much anytime we cook on the stove, the smoke detector goes off. Fortunately, the oven doesn't seem to cause it to go off, but the stove does. Even with the fan on, it is still too hot for the smoke detector.
