Noise, thumping when windy.

So many possibilities. Cause of my thumping was the bat wing TV antenna. I put up with it and when I replaced it with the the new Jack antenna, the thumping went away.

I had this experience and it turned out the tire was separating inside, not visible from the outside. You might have the tires checked.
PS I didn't read all the posts so maybe someone has already addressed this.

I had a similar problem one day heading into a strong quartering head wind. Turned out the mud flap behind the RH front tire had a partially failed mount and the flap was hitting the inner fender.

The only bad sound we've had while driving in strong winds is the slide out awning being pulled out a little bit then going back in. When we stopped we could not find a thing but finally we did decide it was coming from the large slide awning. We slowed down and it got better. Awning locks will help. Sometimes the main outdoor awning will flop around a little. Check to be sure all awnings are locked down then see if the noise stops. With slide awning though...be sure they are unlocked before trying to put them out.

Some slide awnings have a lever that can be pushed back to lock them, could be some don't but I have heard there are add-on locks that can be attached. We have a "cradle" the main shade awnings sits in and we wrap velcro straps around the large awning arms to ensure it stays secure.

A friend had the flapping, bumping sound and it was his mud flaps. Only happened during a certain strong crosswind traveling at highway speeds.

If you have slide toppers, it is likely the anti-furling devices at work. look at the slide topper. you will see a small arm about 2 inches long at the roller. if the wind tries to unfurl the topper, the arm will hit the wall preventing the topper from unfurling. this causes a knocking noise when the wind grabs the topper, and the device hits the side of the MH stopping the awning from unfurling.

If you have pull down sun screens beside the driver and passenger seats you might pull down some and see if the sound stops. After thinking I had a major problem that was what it was on our MH.
