FWIW, I talked with a KONI distributor in Quartzsite week before last. (I have also been communicating directly with the company via email for some time.)
KONI is coming out very soon with a FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock model for the Ford cutaway van E-Series. They have offered it for other truck chassis types for quiet some time ... including the various Super-C chassis models.
This shock automatically becomes soft when it's supposed to be (sharp road surface bumps), but also becomes stiff when it's supposed to be (gently rolling road surface bumps/depressions).
Although our under-loaded E450 already "drives like a van" in all respects except one, I can hardly wait to try out a pair of E450 FSD shocks in just the rear to see what the shock does for our rig's only handling problem - highway surface cracks and other sharp edges.
I'm expecting good results. I can't imagine the FSD approach to shock design not being the best for all motorhome chassis. After all the racing world has been using active shock absorber designs for years and the KONI FSD is a step in that direction - albeit a highly compromised and way, way less expensive one.
Another FWIW: Our changing to taller tires some time ago that put a taller air column between the rim and the tread has also softened up the pounding in the rear from highway surface cracks and other sharp edges - without us having to reduce rear tire air pressures.
