Norcold 8662 refrigerator won't light on rainy days
I've got a Norcold 8662 frig that I have been working on in my 1988 Travelmaster (now coachman). I replaced the main board on the outside unit and the eyebrow board to resolve the non-functioning gas selection option. The 8662 is a dual mode frig that works with 120 AC or LP gas. I now have both options working fine.
My problem now is that in rainy days or extremely moist conditions (like early morning high humidity east coast days), the LP gas mode will not light.
I have removed the ignitor board and cleaned the contacts where the new control board connects. I have replaced the RJ45 connector that plugs into the control board because it was corroded.
My symptoms are that when I throw the LP gas switch to start cooling the frig, nothing happens. I do not hear the gas ignitor attempting light. The check light is on and nothing is happening.
When things dryout, I can throw the lp switch, I hear the ignitor firing and the gas will light and all is well.
Any ideas as to why the LP gas works on dry days and not wet days?
Thanks,
Obie
