norcold freezer

I cleaned off the ice that acumilated in the freezer, our ice machine is now making noise as if it is trying to make ice but we turned it off, while chipping away the ice could I have it something? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  • Thanks guys for the input...still making g the noise. Everything in the freezer is froze except for the ice. Ice takes forever to freeze. Not sure, still working on it.
  • My coach was making noise , "nocold" 1200. A clicking sound, but not ice Found the ice machine had overfilled the ice tray and the heat cycle would not melt the ice enough for the "fingers" to push out the ice! What I did was melt all the ice ( I wouldn't chip it ! ) use a baster and get the water out of the tray wipe it out with a towel and turned it on to have no more problems
  • What model Norcold?

They are pretty simple machines. My guess is you've lodged a piece of ice in the mechanism somewhere. I never "chipped" away the ice from the freezer. When it came time to defrost, I would empty the freezer then use hot water and a turkey baster to douse the ice. Once loosened, it's easily removed.

You'll most likely need to disassemble the ice maker to see if there's a piece of ice lodged inside. An alternative would be to shut the fridge off and allow it to self defrost, then restart it. I don't know if that's feasible if you're using the coach....Dennis
