Are you sure the propane burner is clear of mud dauber nests and spider webs?
What temperature did it start from that it only got down to 70. If it started from 75, thats horrible performance. If it started from 160 -- as it might have if the rig was simply parked in the sun over the noon hour, that's great performance.
