Norcold won't work on LP for fridge but freezer OK!

I have a 2002 Monaco Windsor with a Norcold Fridge that works fine on AC but only the freezer works on LP. The fridge does not work on LP. I removed the site cover and blew out the debris but still no function for the fridge on LP. Freezer gets down to 15 or below. Flame is blue and steady. Any thoughts??

Not when it is cooling correctly on AC
  • That unfortunately is also the normal characteristic of a dying Norcold.
  • Refrigerator is NOT cooling sufficiently on LP.
Freezer getting down to 15F is NOT cooling enough therefore food section can't begin to cool down sufficiently.

Not enough 'heat' transfer occurring on LP.
    As stated
    Low LP pressure
    Dirty burner

But most likely dirty/sooted up flue/flue baffle
Flue baffle is key to proper heat trasfer
  • Freezer ok, fridge not is the first sign of a problem, or worse a failing cooling unit.

Your freezer should get down to 1 or 2 degrees. The fridge should follow at 34-36...
  • The freezer unit gets the "cooling" first. If inadequate, there is not enough left to absorb the heat in the refrigerator.

Many factors can limit cooling-- these are some of those related to the LP heat source:

Low propane pressure (regulator may need adjustment or replacement
    Dirt in refrigerator gas jet
Dirt, rust or insect nest in burner tube

Basically, start by doing a COMPLETE burner area tune-up, not a short cut "blow it out" one.

Check propane pressure to insure it is 11" WC.
