Actually this is wrong.
With two 6 volt batteries correctly wired, you will get double the volts, 12 volts, but will not multiply the amps. With two 12 volt batteries correctly wired, you will still have 12 volts but will double the amps- that is the amps of each battery will add together.
Example:
1. two 6 volt batteries each with 440 amp hours correctly wired will produce 12 volts and 440 amp hours.
2. two 12 volt batteries each with 440 amp hours correctly wired will produce 12 volts and 880 amp hours.
