Well, your examples are right, but so is Crazy Ray's example.

I have not seen any 440 amp hour batteries, so I assume Ray was talking about 6v 220 amp hour batteries--two sets of two. There are two sets wired in series, each to give 12v 220 amp hours, then those two sets are wired in parallel to give 12v and 440 amp hours.
