I had problems with our Trimark lock assembly. Contacted Trimark and tech e-mailed me instructions on how to adjust the mechanism. It required a 7/16 deep socket to loosen a lock nut through a hole in the edge of the door. After a number of tries I got it adjusted and it has worked properly for years. Lubrication may be needed. Call Trimark and describe the problem clearly, maybe you'll be able to adjust it if not mechanism is not broken.
