I'd also recommend an oil analysis for long runs. The starting 100 C viscosity of Mobil 1 5W-20 EP is 8.9 cSt and in the OPs run of 5500 miles has sheared and fuel diluted to 7.69 cSt. On a 4300 mile run with the same 5W-20 EP oil my test came back at 8.3 cSt. It all depends on how thin of an oil you want to run over the duration of your oil change interval, how close to the 6.0 cSt minimum limit for 5W-20.
Personally I'd be tempted to bump it up a viscosity grade if I was intending to go very long on the oil (much longer than factory recommendation). Like a long cross country round trip without planned oil changes. Perhaps Mobil 1 EP 5W30 or 0W40 (a thin 40 weight)designed for long intervals in European engines. One of my concerns would be timing chain wear if the 20 weight sheared excessively.
I also think the oil cooler is a positive factor in oil life. Keeping max temperature down reduces oxidation. It is also what's probably permitting the use of the 5W20 vs. a heavier grade oil.
