Oil Change Frequency-V10
We have a 2011 29' motorhome with a V10 engine. I took it in for an oil change at the dealer yesterday and was told I should change oil every 3,000 miles. What do you think/do?

Our 24' 2001 (2000 chassis) V10 just turned over 207,600 miles and always had its oil and filter done by me. Always Motorcraft filters and Motorcraft 5w-20 oil. Depending on the driving, changes are done at 3K, or 5K or 7500 miles. If it doesn't get used a lot during the winter months, 3K because it can accumulate moisture; moderate distance driving trips, 5K; long trips of 6K to 8K miles round-trip, when we get home, with a fresh change before the trip starts no matter the time since the previous change, Those long trips of 70MPH, or more, will require adding some oil during the trip, but never a full qt. total. Bottom line, IMHO, it depends on how and when its driven.
