I had to comeback and maybe answer the original post,after the oil is drained using something like this.
It is a liquid detergent bottle split length ways. Oil goes into it while laying on cross member and exits thru the orange tip into the drain pan, no mess. Then install the Fumoto drain plug as I linked in the previous post,from then on no more messes.
