Same here. We have the V10 RV (5W-20) a V6 Ford minivan (10W-30), a Corolla and a Frontier 4-Cyl (5W-30). I've been getting the Walmart SuperTech 5W-30 Full Synthetic, and everything's getting switched over. All those and the B&S mower are done. Onan Genny and Honda pressure washer are next. So far so good.

Our boat with a V8 Chevy badged MerCruiser, calls for a 25W-40 "Blend." I can see Synthetic Fans, and Dino Fans, but what makes "Blend" better than Pure Either, eludes me. Walmart has MerC's Quicksilver branded of that oil, so at least for now... I'm watching the guys who are using Mobil-1 15W-50. So far that seems closest to 25W-40.

Oil's bad enough to pick. Gear Lube's terrible. Then there's Filters, but if you're looking for More Fun...Antifreeze Coolant!!!

Everybody has their own favorite oil - but I suspect most RV owners change their oil so often than it's unlikely that even the minor differences between the various brands add up to much/anything. I buy my synthetic oil at Walmart - house brand.

Use exactly what weight oil in a synthetic that the manual calls for. The manufacturers know better than any of us internet keyboard jockeys!
Using a weight other than that can lead to problems that we never dreamed of.

I use a Blend 10-30 in my V-10 (motorhome) and V-6 (Ford Ranger). I use 5-20 syn with Dexos 1 in my Chevy Cruze because of the turbo.

5-20 in my MH and pickup used to simply blow out the tailpipe....having to add oil between changes. (every 4000) Not so with 10-30. Using 5-20 or similar thinner oil is SUPPOSED to give you better gas mileage (strictly an academic exercise) that, on paper, gives the mgfr. the ability to meet the Feds fleet economy standard. IMO....complete bs.

And..btw, there is nothing wrong with using fossil. Again...IMO

The clicky is of an 8 year old post on MC oil..
Would think / hope things have changed in those 8 years for the better..


Ran the Napa in both my Chevy MH's with the 7.4 then newer one with the 6.0 .
Now run it my Ford MH V-10
I believe if memory serves me right it is made by Ashland the same people who make Valvoline oil..
