I am in the market for two units. A travel trailer and a class A. Long story why not getting into. The MH is what we will be using to travel full-time.
I’m not somebody who is impulsive so it’s been many months of walking and looking and researching.
At hand is a 2007 Fleetwood American tradition 42L. Every option available you can imagine. Tag axle, 43 foot long, quad slide. Real wood. It’s nice it’s clean it’s everything you can imagine. $149,500 400 HP Diesel 33k miles. I’ve decided to pull the trigger.
Dealer trying to make me think it’s priced as is because it’s so clean. Blah blah blah.
He said make me an offer.
I’m eating lunch right now and thinking about what to offer NADA $159,500 high to $135,000 low BASE model. This is definitely not a base model but I just don’t have the time right now to waste more time putting in all the options to get a price for it.
I need help with the following area. Anybody know of anything about this particular model home I should be concerned about? My research is not showing anything current and everyone’s “GUT” feeling about the price with the understanding as I stated, top-notch condition every option luxury imaginable.
Thanks everyone!!
this is not the Current day Fleetwood MH, this is an American Coach that you are talking about. Hence I think it is priced accordingly. I definitely would not compare it to todays Fleetwood Discovery or Holiday rambler Endeavor Series, which I happen to like very much. Also there's Usually a big price jump when you go from a 380 Hp to a 400Hp. I think you have room to haggle with the guy. Start at 135K and work your way up and see who caves first. It can't hurt right?
By the way you said that I’m thinking that is a very good thing? We went back-and-forth and the lowest price possible was 142,500 and I went ahead with it. And honestly he didn’t even want to do that. The coach is just immaculate and I personally think it’s worth it. Plus the reviews on this small mom and pop dealership are actually pretty mind-boggling. I was unable to find any bad reviews except for one and when you read it you realize it’s very absurd and ridiculous. That he walked in and they told him they weren’t interested in helping him unless he was ready to buy today. I don’t ever believe reviews like that and think they are over exaggerating. Everything about them is good and everyone I met was good.
Twice they had technicians come out from the service department in a seconds notice and they would explain everything in a very happy and smiling manner when I asked a question of the sales person could not answer. There was no hesitation and he said let me find out and in the blink of an eye I’m staring at a technician explaining it.
That kind of service is hard to find and again they’ve got the reviews to back it up. This is definitely a very different place and that’s what led me to pulling the trigger to begin with was the level of customer service that I just loved.
I like the tag axle because I will be towing a full size crew cab pick up loaded down to the max and I’ll be carrying around 10,000 in total weight so I’m at the maximum.
My gut feeling told me not knowing this was American coach that it’s just a solid and well-built motorhome that’s going to last me forever. The quality and workmanship was just top notch and everything I saw for being 11 years old didn’t look like it had any usage on that whatsoever
