I had a similar decision to make. I went with a newer gas coach. My main reasons were that some campgrounds don't allow RVs over 10 years old for long term stays, and I could get a longer term loan if it was under 10 years old. I'd rather have low payments with the option to pay it off sooner than high payments with no option to pay less.
Another lesser factor was maintenance. I want to do much of it on my own. I can handle an oil change on a gas rig, but not diesel.
Are you thinking brand new gas or just "newer". You'd get more bang for your buck with one a couple years old, and if you find a dealer than will offer you some sort of warranty, you can have some piece of mind.
Those were MY reasons for choosing gas. If I were to offer any more advice, I'd probably just be repeating what you have read in the FAQs.
