I have both a gas and a diesel and there is no comparison. You have a lot of people and if you ever want to boondocks the bigger tanks of the diesel will get you a much better experience with all those people. I carry 110 gallons of water and 110 grey and 80 black. Also I have well over 7K carrying capacity in the coach. The tag axle and the extra two tires is not a big issue. You just take your fronts and put them on the tag and get new fronts every five years. I do not worry about belt position as a well built diesel can have belts put into the frame anywhere on my coach.
