On-board Generac issue

I am unable to get alternating current in the RV when generator is running. The roof air conditioner(s) operate when generator runs, however. I have replaced the transfer switch twice (to no avail) and recently replaced the voltage regulator. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • "newman fulltimer".....WOW, you get chastised for asking about the Inverter breakers and then the same guy tells the OP to check the inverter breakers?????
  • Sounds like the poster, has a whole house inverter
And the a/c pass thru has failed
Maybe a Tripped breaker on the inverter? Or some other inverter control problem?
Aka it has been totally turned off

I wonder if he has any 120v power to the TV, when the generator is off, or when plugged into shore power?

Did he turn off the battery disconnect?

First off, thanks for all of the great advice.
Secondly, yes, I have no idea what I'm talking about - that's why I asked the question in the first place: When the generator is running, the AC works but not alternating current to any outlets in the coach.
Thirdly, I have checked and reset the breakers on generator and main breaker box.

Will check and reset inverter breakers and get back to you with results.

you have NO 120V to ANY source in the MH except the AC?
that's extremely odd check on the inverter/converter (if u actually have one) and see if the circuit breakers have poped although that should only stop the flow of inverter fed outlets not every source as u so claim
  • The AC works on 110volts so you do have alternating current. Have you checked the GFI plugs to see if they have tripped this will shut off power to all plugs down line from the GFI. The GFI plugs are the ones with reset button in the middle usually near a water faucet and out side where the refrigerator plugs in check to see if any of these have tripped.

reasonable idea except not everything is through inverter so would have still had some power in some places
he has power in other areas just not certain outlets

  • If the roof A/C units work when the generator runs, you are getting alternating current.
The question is why you are not getting power to the rest of the RV?

Have you checked and reset all circuit breakers in the panel?

Did you check and reset the circuit breakers on the generator?
