Onan 4000 not wanting to stay running

Hey you all,here I am again.
I have the Onan 4000 generator and it wants to die on me when I get it going and roams up and down before dying. If I wedge something in by the governor to keep it from roaming it will run fine. Is there an adjustment I can make or do I need to replace the carborator on it.
