On my 7.5 Onan, there is an in line filter mounted close to the frame near the genset. I purchased a replacement at my local Advance Auto. I have read reports that Onan does not replace this filter, mine was totally stopped up. I also believe that that filter serves a purpose, so I replaced it.
Good luck with the inside fuel filter, there is a metal line that can be damaged if your not careful, that little metal fuel line is about $38 bucks at a Cummins dealer.
Sure like this 7.5 Onan, runs like a top when new filters are installed.
