I made a similar decision when I added a carport to our house to park our truck camper under. We have a popup and have no intention of going to a hardside so when we laid out the car port and it looked good attached to the house at a little over 9 foot we called it good enough. Now we are going to be switching to a Class B and finding out how high most of them are.
