Your plug should be wired to separate but identical circuits in the main panel, not opposing circuits. This keeps each side of the 50 amp plug at 120 volts. Your coach then splits the two circuits into service for half of the coach for each. Even if combined, voltage remains at 120 volts. Since you have two 50 amp supply lines, you actually have 100 amps of available power. That's quite an improvement over the standard 30 amp service.

NO, Hes right. the 50 amp service on an RV is a 50 amp 240volt four wire service.
Not clear on what you are saying. Fishinghat's post is NOT CORRECT. The electrician DID wire it correctly. Two hots from opposite sides of the CG breaker box, so 240 VAC between the two outer straights (L1 and L2) and 120 VAC from either outer to center round (ground) or center straight (neutral).
I really hate to see inaccurate information on something so important.
Note, RV 30 amp service IS different than house-type 30 amp, as the RV 30 amp has only ONE hot, a neutral and a ground.
