Outdoor screen room for Winnebago View

:?We have a winnebago View and are looking to purchase a screen room with privacy panels. Any thoughts or advice will be appreciated. I have concerns about drilling attachment hardware on the side of the unit but need advice… Thanks :?
  • Do not know if something like this exists in the US? definitely keeps the heat out.
  • sorry the profile is not up to date. Rv is now a 2011 View 24j. Wife has passed away.
  • i have one that came with my 2011 view and I have never used it. I will sell lt at a reasonable price if you are interested.

  • I also just ordered this for our Florida vacation in June for extra shade. I haven't seen one this cheap before. It is still in the box. I need to get it out and look at it.

Just as a heads up: I don't know about your View, but our Itasca Class C has it's propane furnace exhaust on the awning side and under the awning area of our RV. If this is your sitation, an enclosed room on that side might collect and build up some fumes from whenever the furnace is running. The furnace exhaust is very clean, but it still might be an issue.

Also, whenever running the RV generator there may be some fume build-up inside an enclosure, since generator fumes can drift underneath the motorhome and into an exterior enclosed room.

Of course when you're on hookups, these wouldn't be a concern.
  • Wandering view - Is your RV already equipped with an awning? If so, go to craigslist or Adhuntr and check for screen rooms manufactured for a particular brand of awning such as Carefree, etc. If your RV doesn't have an awning, then you perhaps should consider a free-standing screen room as being more convenient and much easier to set up.

You didn't say what brand awning you have but many later View/Navions have Carefree awnings. They make rooms for them. http://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/carefree/products?action=category&categoryid=32

Our solution for a bit more shade and privacy was some funky hippie curtains we made from large light weight cotton prints. They are suspended on rods made from tent poles so we can open and close them. No holes drilled in RV.
  • AS mentioned X2 on PITA to set them up take them down and store. All my friends that bought one..AND they are not cheap....no longer use it. It works for the snowbirds/fulltimers who stay in one place for longer times but for the weekend camper it is a pain to set up.

With the onset of canopies being so inexpensive that is what most RV'ers use now. Albeit not all CG's will allow them on your CG site. You need to check first.
  • Here is one by DometicAwning I wouldn't get one unless you plan to stay in one place for a while. They are a PITA to set up.
AS other poster suggested, I would just get an EZ up Coleman and get screen walls and privacy walls for it.
    Screen walls

    privacy walls
  • This might be an option although storing it might be a problem with your unit. We bought a coleman 10x10 pop up. Very good quality. Has both screen room sides and individual privacy side panels. Nice part is we can put it anywhere on the campsite we want. Usually over a picnic table a few feet away from the RV.

I actually have two as I also use them both together for cover at outdoor antique shows.

Here it is set up a couple years ago with our old B.
