Overall thoughts / problems with Thor Chateau Class C's ?

Just looking at the Thor / Four Winds Class C's specifically the 31L model. I was intrigued and kind of wondering why the used ones seem so much more affordable than other used models. (Some 2011 Thors are as much as a 2005 Jaycos). Now i am well aware of coaches keeping their value etc... But is it because of poor resale due to problems, or just volumes made? (The market is flooded with the models/make?) It seems like you get alot of coach for the cash, i know that every coach maker has issues, but like i said , i was just wondering.......... Thanks in advance for your responses!

  • Yeah, the mid ship tv set up was the 'selling pont' for us. No awkward turning around or neck stretching to see the tv. It can be seen from just about anywhere in the 'living' area. Mounted a tv with built in dvd player in bedroom, that way dear wife can watch 'her shows' and I can watch the games/races.

We have a 2011 Chateau 31K and are fully satisfied with it. We have logged close to 27k on it with no issues whatsoever. Will be replacing day/night shades soon-only thing that is 'disappointing', but a lot of rvs have these.

One of the models i liked is the 31K. But they stopped making that model in 2013 so nothing like that nice bathroom set up for 2014 and plus we dont like the darker color schemes of the new coaches. But we are looking at used coaches anyways (price)

  • Thx for the input! Keep em coming! this will be our big purchase and don't want to mess it up. We like the Thor 31L, the jayco greyhawk 31FK, , so far.....
  • We have a 2011 Thor Chateau 28Z. Our experience has been less than perfect with our Class C. Slide problems, electrical issues, cab over leaks, rear differential leak and the list goes on. And this is only with about 5k miles on it. Took two years to get bugs worked out of it and I am still not comfortable with it. I would not recommend one, but if you find one that checks out and price is right, go for it.
