Overnight On I-25

Does anyone have a suggestion for places to stop for the night along I-25 between Cheyenne, WY and Albuquerque, NM?
  • Not sure what kind of stop you have in mind but there is one rest stop between raton and Las Vegas where overnight parking is permited. If wanting RV hook ups we like the Whittington center (NRA). They have two RV parks open to the public. They are about 4 miles west of raton, nm.There is a KOA off i25 at Las vegas. Casino rv park between Santa Fe and Albquerque. In addition to these there are probably 100 more.

Isleta Lakes RV Park is right off I-25 about 8-mi south of I-40 in ALB. Very nice park.
  • Since I do not know how far per day you want to drive I can not really give you a good answer but look here

  • If you're just looking for a place to sleep along that route, pretty sure there's lot of public lands. I haven't been on that route, but I've been through that area and I've just pulled off the road and parked and spent the night that way. Going through Nevada there are all kinds of places to do that.
  • I also recommend the NRA Whittington Center. You do not need to be an NRA member. Long spacious pull through. Easy in and out. Reasonable prices. It is about 10 miles south of Raton.
  • I must try the NRA Whittington Center! I have driven by 100s of times, never once used it!

I like the RATON KOA for a quick stop. LV KOA is nice as well.

  • There is a neat little RV park at the very top of Raton Pass, good for an overnighter. But nothing else close by if you need groceries or such. But those can be bought at Walmart just south of Trinidad as you are approaching the pass.

Otherwise, we typically overnight at the KOA in Raton.
