  • If money wasn't an issue and miles were the goal this seems to be a good option
  • It's got some good points and some bad points. The light colored interior would not be my first choice. It would be a great rig if you had to tow a heavy trailer for your business or your pleasure. I also think it has a certain appeal to those that have spent a lot of time driving an 18 wheeler.
I like it but feel that there are several things that could be done to make it look better. Right now, to me, it looks too utilitarian. I'm sure it will get the job done, but it looks sort of plain dong it right now. :B
  • If I had 400K+ to spend on a toy, this would not be my choice.
But, craig7h has a good point about maintenance.
  • If I had the money I would buy a "FRED" any time. Just the fact of getting the engine worked on would make the difference. I think a nicer paint job would have made a big difference.
  • These toterhomes were developed for the racing industry to house the crews and haul stacker trailers. If you drive a lot of miles in an RV a year like we do for our business (25K +), these may be the way to go.

We have a 2004 Coachman with 350K miles on it. It has held up well, but was never built to be driven the way we use it. I couldn't imagine driving that many miles in some of the new motorhomes given all of horror stories we hear about quality and durability.
  • Since I own a DP, I've wondered why anyone would own one of these? When you compare this 45' "truck" to a 45' DP, all I see is lost room with that long engine compartment stretching out in front. What's it equal to - about a 38' MH?

I watched one that a guy was working on - the generator was located under bed and he was trying to get it running to power the A/C. I'm glad I wasn't trying to sleep with the generator running under the bed.

The driveshaft running down the middle of the frame has got to mess up the storage somewhat.

I'm not sure what they're good for other than if you want to play truck driver.
